The Very Long-Term Prison Population in Scotland: A scoping document

The Building Futures programme has commissioned the Scottish Advocacy and Research Collective (SPARC) to compile a scoping document to better understand the impact of long-term imprisonment in Scotland, drawing on their expertise.

SPARC found that many of the issues faced by long-term prisoners in England and Wales are also faced by those in Scottish prisons. The scoping document highlights these similarities and considers the differences. This document sets the context for future Building Futures work in Scotland.
