PRT trustees’ success scoops two awards

This month PRT Chair James Timpson, and PRT Trustee Mifta Choudhury both won separate awards for their pioneering work to support people with convictions.

At this year’s Longford Lecture, James was presented with the Kevin Pakenham Prize. Awarded for the leadership he had shown in encouraging other major employers to follow him in his 2,000 Timpson high street outlets in training and employing those with prison experience; as well as his passionate, public and passionate commitment to promote the benefits of second chances.

Separately, Mifta Choudhury, CEO of Youth Ink, was presented with the Children & Young People Now Youth Justice Award for their Peer Support Navigator Network based at Southwark and Bromley Youth Justice Service.

We’d like to extend our congratulations to both of them, and celebrate their positive contribution to helping people caught up in the criminal justice system—along with their work as PRT trustees.
