PRT comment: government’s response to Justice Committee report on women in prison

Commenting on the government’s response to the Justice Committee’s report on women in prison, Peter Dawson, Director of the Prison Reform Trust said:

“There is much to welcome in the government’s response to the Justice Committee’s report on women in prison. But what we urgently need now is to see the long-promised delivery plan and the measures it sets out for whether the many promises the government has made are actually making a difference. Then we need to see performance against those measures regularly published. We have been here before, with a long list of good intentions – delivery is what matters.”
