PRT comment: Joint thematic inspection on the quality of work undertaken with women

Commenting on the findings of today’s (23 May) joint thematic inspection on the quality of work undertaken with women, published by HM Inspectorate of Probation and HM Inspectorate of Prisons, Pia Sinha, chief executive of the Prison Reform Trust, said:

“A lack of joined up working between services and overly complicated systems are not helping support women. We need to enable women to access the right support whilst in prison to ensure effective resettlement, and to stop the revolving door of women’s imprisonment. HMPPS need to accept and swiftly implement the recommendations of the report.”
